Introduction

Cuba, a Caribbean island nation known for its vibrant culture, is a socialist state governed by the Cuban Communist Party. It is renowned for its beautiful beaches, classic cars, and rich musical heritage, particularly the iconic salsa. Cuba is the third-most populous country in the Caribbean, with about 10 million inhabitants. Being the largest island in the Caribbean, it is roughly the size of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, with a long, narrow shape stretching over 1,200 km long but only around 100 km wide at its widest point. The most recent per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Cuba is recorded at $7,449.68 USD as of 2022.
